Instead of taking the time to program her info into your phone, it's smoother to hand her the paper and pen and have her write down her info for you.

Here's how easy it can be. All you need to do is make an observation about her. Notice a detail of her appearance. Maybe she's wearing a fashionable blouse or jeans, or carrying a cool-looking purse. Or, you might notice she's got a cool new model of cell phone.

Notice it and mention that you're looking to buy something similar for a friend of yours: "Hey, I noticed your _____. I need to pick out a birthday gift for my friend Jennifer, and she might like something like that...where'd you get it?"

This "detail" can be anything. If she's shopping at the supermarket, you can notice something she's got in her cart and say, "Pardon me, I need to bring a dessert to a dinner party I'm going to tonight, and I'm wondering if you have a suggestion on something that's easy to make, but really tasty."

If you want to know how to get a girls number at a bookstore, use the same principle: "Hey, is that book you're reading any good? I'm trying to pick out a birthday gift for a friend -- she's a girl the same age as you -- and I'm wondering if you've read anything really good lately?"

Let her answer. You only need to have a few minutes of conversation with her, and then say,

"Well it was nice meeting you, I'm going to take your advice. Hey, do you have email? I'll let you know if my gift is a hit."

The woman will nearly always say "yes" to this. (The "email" question is awesome, because everyone has email, right? Now you're going to treat it as if she OFFERING to give you her email.)

Take out your pad of paper and pen, and hand it to her. Act like this is completely natural. No big deal.

Now, as she writes down her email address, say to her, "write down your number, too. And I didn't catch your name..."

In most cases, she'll go ahead and write it all down for you.

When you act like this is completely natural and normal, she'll treat it as such.

It's when you ASK PERMISSION for a woman's information that she might think twice about it. So don't ask permission. Just get her info!
